Pre-wedding photography in Kyoto.
All the members of Kyoto Meadori Bishouen feel very lucky to be able to work for the sake of our clients, creating photo memories within such a fantastic and beautiful city as is Kyoto.
The old Japanese capital offers a wide range of different, all very beautiful, scenarios and atmospheres, all within the range of a few kilometers, (easily traveled in our comfortable vehicles) that in the same pre-wedding session (or “maedori” if we use the Japanese term) we can include full blossoming sakura trees, the emblematic Yasaka Pagoda and its surrounding streets, Kamo River or the traditional houses of old neighborhoods such as Gion. In addition to these attractive locations Kyoto also has a great number of parks with enchanting elements such as ponds, Japanese bridges, bamboo forests, all of which match our exquisite Kimonos, helping to create visually stunning, beautiful photographs and memories.
In addition to its natural and urban locations, Kyoto also posses a great number of temples and shrines, some of which open their doors to maedori sessions. In these places we find a perfect balance between the interior scenarios of the temples, with their tatami rooms, traditional architecture, calm air and refined atmosphere, and the outside landscapes of the temple’s gardens, ponds and delicate flora.
Natural seasons are also a crucial factor for pre-wedding photography in Japan, specially in Kyoto, If green and vibrant flora is what you yearn for, late spring and early summer would be ideal. Autumn and early spring are very popular seasons as the browns, yellows and reds of the autumn leaves, as well as the coquette pinks, whites and purples from the sakura and plum blossoms make great backgrounds for unforgettable images.
Besides the place and the season, another fundamental element of pre-wedding photography in Kyoto is the bridal Kimono. There are few places in all Japan that work so well with a Kimono as Kyoto. With our selection of over 80 different bridal Kimonos we assure you we can find the Kimono of your dreams.
Having so many options is fantastic, however having so many elements to choose from can become confusing. Therefore previous planning is crucial for a successful and comfortable maedori session. In Kyoto Bishouen we are very happy to offer counseling and guidance for your photo session. Either by mail, phone, or meeting us in our studio, we will gladly help you asses the best time, season, Kimono and location for your ideal pre-wedding session.
